You know, in addition to protecting you if you go down, they also protect you &quot;in the wind&quot; from flying debris: rocks or other crap coming up off the road. I don&#039;t wear mine often for protection - fortunately for me, the one time I needed them protection it was also a chilly day on which I wore them for warmth! 		<description>Thanks for posting this article! I&#039;ve often thought I should have a pair of chaps, but never knew how they should fit. They&#039;re maybe less essential on the trike than on the bike because of the not-going-to-fall-down feature, but trikes can still get hit by other vehicles. Plus, I&#039;ve gotten home from cold-weather rides with severely chilled legs. Warmth + protection=happy Juju.</description>
