Hello, sounds like a great ride. That is what I like about riding in Iowa, you can take off on a ride which ever direction you want until you get tired, stop,
take an ice cream break, head towards home and be there in time to catch the news!
You can hit most borders of Iowa in a couple of hours!
We have friends in Oceola and my wife hates to ride the interstate, so we always take 63rd south out of Des Moines, through Norwalk south on R45 through Martensdale, St. Marys, New Virgina to Oceola. Beautiful ride!
Our alternate route down is, once we hit Martensdale, head west to Bevington, then take R35 south through St.Charles, and Truro to exit 36 on I35. We do have to jump on I35 for a short shot to the Casino exit. R35 is a cool road, but go slow,
there are some MASSIVE dips and holes! This road is not well maintained.
I know what you mean about the seams in the road, I'm beginning to wonder if they do this on purpose or what?! The other day on Hyw 44 between Grimes and Desoto, I hit one so hard I thought I ruptured a moob (wifes word for man boob) LOL!!!!!
Keep up the great work, good luck with the new bike, and email me sometime so maybe my wife and I could tag along?!

Love hearing about your rides!

Sounds like a wonderful time. Glad to read that your enjoying your new ride, especially without those drag bars.

What a bummer about the video, good thing the pictures didn't get deleted as well.

Have a great day.
